Halo Infinite launched the first of two back-to-back technical test weekends last week, allowing anybody who has signed up as a Halo Insider to give the game a try. But it appears that 343 needs even more players for this weekend's run since the developer has now opened the floodgates—but only for a limited time.
Because the forthcoming Halo Infinite test will feature 12v12 Big Team Battles, 343 is eliminating the Insider requirement for the trial. On Xbox, this entails granting universal access to the technical exam to anybody. On a PC, though, the procedure is a little more complicated.
For the time being, PC gamers who took part in last week's flight should have received an email with a friend code that allows a non-Insider friend to play Halo Infinite. It's undoubtedly clumsy, and it'll be a disappointment for anyone who doesn't have a friendly Insider to hand them a code.
The Xbox flight was simply "ready sooner," according to community manager John Junyszek on Reddit, while community director Brian Jarrard comments that the team may still be exploring methods to get everyone in.
Jarrard tweeted on Monday, "Note for Steam gamers - stand by, we are also working on a means to potentially get more of you in as well." "When we have more information, we'll let you know."
Keep a watch out in the coming days to see if 343 decides to find a method to bring even more PC gamers into Infinite. Because, although Infinite may be coming in hot, the test runs have been a joy, with a version of Halo that pays homage to Bungie classics while also emulating Titanfall 3. On the last day of last week's test, cars were added, and grappling those bad boys allows you to perform some truly insane acrobatics. Consider the following example:
